Deborah has an Honours Degree in Drama from Manchester University, and a PGCE in Drama and Special Education from Bretton Hall College.
Deborah is CHANCELLOR of Leeds Trinity University.
In July 2018 Deborah was awarded The Honorary Award Doctor of Arts by Staffordshire University, in recognition of her major contribution to the Arts, and to education and literacy in the city of Stoke-on-Trent.
Educational work includes guest lecturing at the Universities of Manchester, Bolton and Staffordshire. Deborah also has a broad experience of working with young people, coaching for LAMDA exams, delivering Shakespeare workshops in high schools and colleges, and in primary schools for Creative Partnerships.
In 2016-17 Deborah was National Literacy Trust Author in Residence at Ormiston Horizon Academy.
